Claude A. Padgett of Marshall joins J. A. Nicholson's Undertaking in Hymera, taking a half interest to form Nicholson and Padgett. The firm boasts a leading Sullivan county outfit with a rubber tire funeral car. Padgett, a Barnes School of Embalming graduate and Indiana licensed embalmer, began January first.
Local store Akins promotes overshoes and rubbers as a practical solution to wet weather. The ad urges shoppers to choose durable footwear to avoid costly medical bills from wet feet and related illnesses.
A historical feature recounts Sheriff Adam C. Miller’s tenure in Sullivan County marked by a dirty jail, lax oversight, and a series of escapes inspired by Florence Clark and other lovers. Florence helped several inmates escape while Miller was away, leading to disciplinary and legal entanglements.

His wife a daughter of Jesse Wood of Jefferson township stays with him as they rent Wes Enochs' farm 34 miles southwest of Pleasantville.

W F Shake and wife of Terre Haute returned home Monday after a short stay with Shake's brother J H Shake and family. John Taylor of Princeton visited his parents Mr and Mrs Wm A Taylor of Jefferson township from Thursday to Sunday.
