Miss Zelia Dunbar of Terre Haute visits Mrs. Albert Wiggs. W. A. Bailey returns home after a several dawn stay at Bethany Park.
A thunderbolt six miles west of town on Friday killed four mules used by Rollie and Harold Carmichael. Rollie, about twenty, and Harold, twelve, were knocked from their plows. Rollie suffered severe leg burns and loss of a toe while Harold jumped up and sought help. The mules, valued at $200 each, died in the strike and one mule on the other crew was killed as well. Insurance partially covered the animals.
Carlisle White Sox lost to Loogootee Graham Glass Workers 7 to 3 on local diamond. Cooley pitched well for Carlisle, while Kovener struggled at times. The game featured early scoring, scattered errors, and a contentious finish as Loogootee pulled ahead in the ninth.

A large Shelburn crowd plans to attend the three o'clock game with arrangements to stop the No. 93 afternoon train. Scanlon of Brazil will umpire, as locals refuse to accept a Shelburn man’s decisions, signaling a home team victory theme.
Mrs. Margaret Davis spent Saturday afternoon in Sullivan. Mrs. James Ech2m of Terre Haute was here from Thursday until Saturday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Knotts. Miss Rose Wilson traveled to Rockville Tuesday to stay several days with her sister, Mrs. Virgil Wiser. Prof. O. H. Greist and a party visited Rockville for several days and returned home Monday.
