The Sullivan Times reports an evangelist named Barrett introducing a chorus innovation at a local revival. Men whistled while women hummed, drawing amused commentary from the Washington Herald about the audacious departure from tradition.

Rev. A. L. Tidrick received a unanimous call from the Baptist church of Liberty Center Wells county to be their pastor He accepted immediately and will begin the first Sunday in May The new pastorate offers a better salary and many Oolitic residents will move with Mr and Mrs Tidrick Carlisle and vicinity hold many friends for him
Revival meetings at the M E church ended Friday night April 23 after about two weeks of afternoon and evening services. The pastor Rev. Wm F Russell led the gatherings with help from W J Williams of Hymera Rev Murphy of Sullivan and evangelist Rev Henry B Roller.
For sale a ten horsepower Russell Traction Steam Engine in good running order offered by Schroeder and Goedecke.

The Carlisle High School ball team was defeated by the Black Diamonds on Friday April 22 with a score of 10 to 4. Both teams played good ball.
The Carlisle merchants say last Saturday was one of the best business days of the spring with many country visitors in town and all stores busy.
