Lee Jenkins a veteran of the Spanish American War died at the National Soldiers Home in Johnson City Tennessee after tuberculosis illness. His widow Pearl Lanham Jenkins accompanied him, and a military casket was used for burial. Jenkins served in the 10th Infantry and fought in Cuba and Nicaragua. He was 48 at death. Funeral held at Carlisle Christian church with Masons and Knights Templar escort. He leaves a wife, mother, one brother and several nieces and nephews. Harry D White and Owen Wilkinson bought the Carlisle Grain Company elevator, forming White & Wilkinson to enlarge the facility and install a flour mill producing Fiavo flour. The new firm plans to operate within months.
