Prominent Sullivan County Teacher Dies After Illness
Miss Katherine Laughead aged 54 died Tuesday afternoon at her sister Mrs. Mary M L Jones home in Gill township after three weeks illness with araemic poisoning. She taught in Sullivan county schools since 1899 including Rose Merom and New Lebanon and was longtime superintendent of centralized Gill township schools. Survived by three brothers and four sisters and buried in Merom cemetery with Merom Eastern Star services.
