Indiana Highway Commission Divides Carlisle District Work
The Indiana State Highway Commission announced district division for Sullivan County area with Vincennes as district hub. Ethelbert Curtner named superintendent for the Vincennes district, Walter ONeil as Carlisle deputy, and Charles McClure as assistant. ONeil will patrol the Dixie B road from Carlisle north to Sullivan south and basing operations in Carlisle and Oak Town.

Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery appoints new sexton
At a directors meeting William Tinsley was hired as sexton and will start Monday to care for the cemetery. The grounds will be mowed in summer and graves dug by the sexton. An assessment of 2.00 on each burial permit will fund 1920 work. Nolan C. Hoover to oversee projects.

Infant Claude South Jr. Dies After Three Week Illness
Infant Claude South Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude South died at their home on the John W. Cooper farm near Carlisle after a three week illness. He was 1 year 1 month 26 days old. Surviving are the parents a brother a sister and grandparents. Burial was at the I C O F cemetery Saturday at 2 PM after services by Rev. A L Williams.

Mrs Russell Dies After Illness at Carlisle Home
Mrs Armizinda Russell widow of George R Russell died at her Carlisle Indiana home on Friday March 26 1920 after several weeks of illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 30 pm from the home by Rev A L Williams with burial in the I O O F cemetery. The obituary notes she was born April 22 1854 near Greenup Illinois married at sixteen to Geo R Russell and left four children John W William Russell Ella Wampler and Ida plus a grandson Luther Russell. She was the last survivor of a family of six and a member of the M E Church.
