Soda Springs High School Homecoming Week Activities

The Student Body of Soda Springs High School invites all to attend Homecoming events. A pep rally and bonfire start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with marching, singing and crowning of a Homecoming Queen candidate. Friday features a 2:30 assembly and a 7:00 p.m. football game at the park against Fielding Spar in Soda Springs. The homecoming dance will be held at the high school.

Tax levies set for 1962 in Caribou and neighboring counties

Caribou County sets 1962 tax levies by board decision on Sept 10. Totals show a slight dip from 1961 with specific per $100 valuations for state, county, school, and special levies. no Teacher's Retirement levy this year. Crop Insurance Time Extended in Caribou County

The deadline for securing Federal Insurance for 1963 crops in Caribou County has been extended from Sept. 15. Mr. Schenk and Mr. Forrest Boerner are back in the area to contact farmers who wish to participate in the program.

Speech Therapy Clinic To Be Held Here Sept 21

Elaine Johnson of the PTA announces a Speech Therapy Clinic on Friday Sept 21 at 12 45 pm for Soda Springs Bancroft first and second graders at Soda Springs Elementary School. Six practical nurses from Caribou County Hospital received vocational education certificates after a one year course. Ronald J. Tippets delivered the main address, with presentations by Pearl Fryar and Ada Smith. Helen Myers gave the student response as the class noted full attendance by Alba Rasmussen and celebrated with a Cedar View dinner.

The Caribou County Republican Central Committee met on September 12 and unanimously adopted the State Republican Platform from the August 4 convention in Pocatello. It endorses the anti gambling plank warning that gambling invites syndicated crime and corruption, and affirms support for constitutional government and law enforcement under existing statutes.

Barley from Caribou County is rolling into bins at several points, with harvest averaging 70,000 bushels daily though frost damage causes wide yield variation.
