PTA Panel Discussion Set At Springs High

A PTA meeting at Springs High School is set for April 3 at 7 30 P M with a panel on school concerns. Panelists include Darius Clarke Oda Springs Ross Redcroft Russell Hebdon Kara Panter Brig Brac and Dr Owsley. Election of officers will follow next year with nominees for vice president Russell and George Savoy president Ron Ander McNeil Rhoda Amerson secretary treasurer and others including Mrs Clintor Mrs Jack Christensen and Duane Rice.

Recognition event honors 4H leaders at Presbyterian Glenn Allen

New Professional Hired for Soda Springs Golf Club

Victor Ross will be the new professional at Soda Springs Golf Club after snow melts. He comes from Idaho Falls where he assisted Pro George Orullian for six years. The Ross family will relocate to Soda Springs once housing is found and the course plans to open shortly after early April. Memberships remain available with a full member price of 100 dollars and daily greens fees for non members.

Bancroft Recruit Graduates From Basic Training

Marine Private David A. Mabey, son of Mr and Mrs J Emerson Mabey of Bancroft, graduates after eight weeks at the San Diego Marine Recruit Depot. He will undergo two to four weeks of combat training, then leave home before reporting to his first Marine assignment. The program stresses physical conditioning survival tactics marksmanship and drill. It also covers basic military subjects hygiene first aid customs and missions of the Marine Corps.

Holstein Friesian Assn of America reports a registered cow from the area has surpassed 111 598 pounds of milk and 3961 pounds of butterfat after 3723 days from age two. Owner Riley L Mickelson Grace was notified of the production mark reached by Ganado Louella Conny 4312385 VG. A tailoring workshop organized by Lois Rindliswaker Karen Modersitaki and Virginia Rugers was completed in Bancroft with 16 participants after a series of three workshops since January.

Grace Wrestlers Win Junior High Tournament

Grace Junior High won the Soda Springs Invitational Wrestling tournament with nine champions. Grace finished with 130 total points while Soda Springs had 117 and Malad 70, in a meet featuring eight six schools and 86 wrestlers.

Two Break-Ins Reported in Soda Springs Friday Night

Soda Springs police report two break-ins Friday night at Shuler Bros. Co and Caribou Motor and Implement Co. Tools and welding gear valued around 32500 were gathered and ready for removal but thieves fled. Police monitor nearby towns after recent similar robberies.

Three Soda Springs High School students competed in the Idaho State Declamation Festival at Skyline High School in Idaho Falls. Alberta Christman earned one excellent and two superiors for an original oratory, Sue Ann Alldaffer received one good and two superiors for humorous dialogue, and Don Sibbett earned one average one good and one excellent for pantomime.
