A Bancroft group petitioned for the study. Survey goes to Boise then to the Federal Bureau of Roads in Washington. Arlo Wathrich named station agent at Wendell as family moves to new home.
North Gem faces Fielding of Paris in a key semi final tonight at 8 PM in Bancroft to earn a spot in the state tournament. The winner meets Sort Marah Saturday for the district title with location to be determined by the result.
Caribou’s cutter teams meet Idaho and Wyoming elites in a Saturday test at Soda Springs with 1 p.m. starts and conditional venue. At Bancroft weekend results list multiple flat and matched races with Sant, Hines, Sorensen, Jorgensen, Bowman, McLain, Caldwell, Beus and Chadwick among the notable victors.
At the regular meeting Thursday evening, caribou concerns and rancher cooperation dominated discussions. Members approved large placards urging respectful hunting and farming conduct, debated a War Memorial fund contribution, and set a date in April for a dance with 58 members present.
Minnie Horsley a pioneer teacher in Soda Springs died at age 76 after a long record on the public school staff She taught from age 18 and served on the school board for more than half a century She moved to Pocatello to live with her daughter and is survived by two sons six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren Funeral services were to be held in Soda Springs at the Presbyterian church with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
Late February survey shows China Hat snow course at 72 percent of normal water content and 198 inches of snow with 2.7 inches water equivalent. Samson ranch at 87 percent of normal with 31.1 inches snow and 7.6 inches water, revealing lower water content than last year and higher snow depth than a month ago.
