Voters seek another election on 5 mill levy in farming community
The Joint Class A School District 148 Board is asked to call another election to authorize 5 mills for general school purposes in addition to the 25 mills already approved. Residents cite concerns over teacher load, workbooks, auto mechanics, activity bus, transportation, and community use of the school building. An auditor's report hearing is set for July 8 at the regular board meeting with books open for inspection.

Summer Band In Progress In Bancroft
Mike Hatch teaches a summer band in Bancroft inviting interested individuals to contact him. The high school band meets Wednesday at 7 30 p m with plans for marching in July celebrations. Junior band has not started yet as groups will rotate with summer baseball games on Thursdays and Fridays.
