Storage loan program modified under Gibbs plan
Gibbs, chairman of the ASC committee, urged checks on available storage capacity to ensure air space for operations. A revision in the Storage Facility Loan Program allows farmers to borrow up to 95 percent of the outlay for farm storage facilities costing 40 cents per bushel or less, with higher grants tied to cost limits. The old rules tied to 80 percent of facility costs, and a new mobile equipment loan enables 95 percent of delivered and assembled gear to keep grain in proper condition.
