The community celebrated Pie Day and a large greens project with equipment from Morrison Knudsen and a large turnout. County Blood Drawing Scheduled for August 20

The second blood donation date in Caribou county is August 20 with Mrs. Emmett Herron in charge. The Soda Springs high school gymnasium remains the site and this is the only yearly drawing. A 150 pint quota was exceeded at the last event. blood can be given every eight weeks per Mrs. Pearl Fryar of Carlton County Hospital staff.

Caribou County held a county wide Fourth of July celebration in Soda Springs with a large crowd, parade activities, and family oriented events led by the Blackburn Call American Legion Post. About 500 attendees joined a Lions Club breakfast from 7 to 9 am.

Five Clubs To Enter Posse Show At Grace Fairgrounds

The Southern Idaho District Posse show gathers at Grace fairgrounds on Saturday July 20 with 150 plus horses. Poses from Pocatello Aberdeen Burley Rockland and Caribou County perform drills in two shows at 1:00 p m and 8:00 p m. Events include races barrel racing calf roping and chariot races. Caribou County Posse of Bancroft Soda Springs Grace sponsors the event led by President Frank Stoddard. Trophies and ribbons awarded winners eligible for state meet in Burley August 3.

Tenday Council Boy Scouts of America announces fund raiser dinners in Grace on July 11 and Soda Springs on July 13 to support a new stout camp on Yeaman Creek near Smoke River and a second camp site. Project valued at $200000 with A R Hopkins leading Soda Springs event at the Idaho cafe and Nate Black and Clarence Garrett as general cochairmen.

Premium lists for the Ninth Caribou County Fair will go in the mail next week. Cecil Alldaffer, county extension agent, announced today. The books were printed in the Sun's commercial department and are being folded and stapled for delivery to the county agent's office this weekend.

The Pioneer Celebration plans a parade and program themed The Spirit of Progress led by Hatch with entrants allowed to reuse prize floats. Two Injured in Holiday Auto Crash Near Grace

Larry Lewis of Soda Springs and Bonnie Gibson were injured when their car left a county road north of Grace on July 5. Lewis dozed at the wheel, the vehicle hit an embankment, Bonnie broke a leg and Larry suffered facial cuts. Both were at home recovering. car damage was about 600 dollars. Sheriff Ralph Marriott investigated.

Three Year Old Loses Fingertips In Lawn Mower Accident

Gregory Toone aged 3, son of Mr and Mrs Floyd Toone of Grace, cut the tips off two fingers on his left hand when caught in an old lawn mower. Curtis, 7, was pulling the mower to put it away as they were told not to play with it. Gregory followed too close, was taken to Caribou County hospital where surgery was performed. he is now home and recovering.
