Larry Rice of Soda Springs High School earned a district runner-up in the heavy weight class at the Fifth District Class A Wrestling Tournament in Marsh Valley. He won his first two decisions before a final loss, securing state eligibility for Moscow this weekend.
Mr and Mrs Odell Andrews and family stayed overnight with her parents Mr and Mrs Ray Davis in Downey on Saturday. They also visited her brother Mr and Mrs Glade Davis and Jack Moser and his mother Alta Moser in Downey before returning home Sunday night.

Six Licensed Practical Nurse students at Caribou Memorial Hospital under Ada Smith, R N, complete first half of 12 month program and will receive caps. Capping ceremony set for February 25 at 8 00 p m in the hospital visitors lounge with refreshments in the dining room. Relatives and friends are invited. The class includes Cora Ruger Mary Meiners Hortense Yost Pat Bredehoft Sharon Bright and Nancy Vose.
Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary asks for old sheets to make bed pads for the nursing home. Drop off at the hospital or call president Mrs Rex Sperry at 547 4585 to arrange pickup. They also offer six boys red sport jackets for sale at the hospital. ANNUAL DINNER reported for Southeastern District Health Department staff and County Commissioners on Feb 9 at Top of the Town Trail Cafe with attendees and 1969 activity reports presented by Mrs Hoffman and hospital staff.
The Soda Springs Sno-Drifters Club presents a fourteenth annual weekend of snowmobile racing on Feb 21 and 22. Saturday features a 100 mile cross country race from Wood Canyon toward Hooper Spring with 100 plus three man teams, expected finish around 2 PM. Sunday hosts over 150 riders in four classes at Van Christensen Ranch with 1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3 1/2 mile heats, time trials at 10 AM and races at 12 noon, plus spectator amenities and a small admission fee.
Fifth District A-2 basketball double elimination will be held in Preston during the last week of February and first weekend of March. Pairings place Soda Springs Preston Malad Bear Lake Montpelier eastern teams at Preston and western teams at American Falls.
The Soda Springs School Music Department presents a concert Wednesday February 25 at 7 30 p m in the high school auditorium. Sixth and seventh grade bands directed by Wally Bennett perform a varied program. Eighth grade mixed chorus also directed by Bennett will sing. Seventh grade boys and girls choruses will perform separately and combine for a novelty number. Seven grade ensembles join the program under Mrs Winifred Alldaffer. Admission is free and the public is invited.
Power and Light Co in cooperation with Caribou County Extension Homemakers Council sponsor a countywide Electronic Cooking School. It features the electronic oven and a new outdoor electric grill with door prizes and free babysitting. Sessions at First Ward Church Soda Springs on March 4 at 1 30 and 8 and March 5 at 1 30.
A special clinic will be held February 25 from 8 00 to 9 00 a m at the Public Health Nurse Office Caribou County Courthouse. The vaccine targets the red or hard measles not German measles. All county children aged 1 year and older may attend, and this may be the last free vaccination opportunity.
