McClure Urges Ban on Rodent Poison Cancelled
Idaho Senator Jim McClure urged the EPA to cancel its proposed ban on strychnine for rodent control. He asked farmers to protest by sending comments to Washington and noted lands as rodent breeding grounds. He said strychnine bait has long been effective with little environmental harm and called for EPA comments by March 7, 1977.

Sunday evening January 26 the home of Mr and Mrs Ken Burnham was broken into while they attended church. The back door was forced and a truck backed up to it as burglars stole antiques valued about 3000 dollars plus a chain saw stereo tape recorder walkie talkies and Christmas gifts. Loss estimated near 4000 dollars. Sheriff Bert Gailey investigated. Burnham works for the Soda Springs School District.
