College student Kate Pack active in campus circles

Education major Kate Pack of Idaho State College in Pocatello is student editor and circulation manager of The Bengal college paper. She is treasurer of the Press Club, has acted in productions, pledged Alpha Psi Omega, belongs to SPURS and plays in a college band. She is vice-president of the state ETA and president of the YMMIA at the LDS institute on campus.

Accidents Reported in County This Week

The county sheriff reports two traffic incidents. Gene Robinson Grace lost control on a county road near Grace, damaging a 1959 sash sedan owned by Roland Rouson with minor bumper and mirror damage totaling around 40 dollars. A second collision involved a pickup owned by Lia Ellis near Svca Springs, causing front bumper damage and a five dollar repair to a fence.

Kiwanis Talk Highlights Germany and Swiss Life

Kiwanis members heard a speaker recount his Germany trip and a tour of Switzerland. The lecture covered rural life, farming by horse and oxen, scarce lumber, and towns tied to history including Luther and German soldiers monuments.

Christmas lighting winners announced in Boda Springs

The Caribou County Sun notes winners in the city Christmas lighting contest. Dr Mack Tigert’s home won first for unfurnished Nativity displays, Grede school earned best commercial lighting with carol records, and Santé Clare’s home won for those previously not winners. Several residents moved to new addresses including Willem Bowen family at 90 East First North and others on South Main and Lakeview subdivisions.

County Grain Meeting Slated for January 16

A county-wide grain meeting is set for January 16 at 7 30 pm in the County Court House. All grain producers and handlers are urged to attend. The program will cover grain sanitation seed treatment moisture control and compost.
