Christmas Lighting Winners Named in Soda Springs

After hours of care and deliberation the Soda Springs Christmas lighting program announced winners. Residential first place went to Eart Sorensen and Ray Harner. other top homes include Don Roberts and Soren Wilson. Commercial division honors Cedar View Supper Club and KBRV Radio with a special prize to the City for the Christmas Forest display.

Mastodon Remains Found Near Springs by Workmen

Workmen with El Paso Natural Gas Co. uncovered a mastodon about three feet below the surface five miles north of a Springs. The University of Idaho and El Paso Natural Gas Co. will continue the dig in spring after cold weather halted earlier efforts. Preliminary dating suggests the animal lived 10 000 to 43 000 years ago.

Unclaimed Silver Dollars Prompts Christmas Promotion

Highland Rams Win Grace Invitational Wrestling Tourney

Highland Rams of Poca piled up 101 points to win the Grace Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday night. Grace finished second with 84 points followed by Soda Springs 64 and North Gem 48. North Gem Cowboys win two on road at Hansen and Kimberly

North Gem’s Cowboys won 60 18 at Hansen and 68 56 at Kimberly on back to back nights. Maxwell led scoring with 15 points at Hansen while Redford and Maxwell had 20 each at Kimberly.
