Commissioners Hospitalized Delays County Meeting
The County of Caribou operates on an emergency basis as two of three commissioners, Edwin M. Smith and Jack Gibbs, are hospitalized. Smith had a heart attack on August 4 and Gibbs underwent surgery in Salt Lake City the same week. Both are recovering and expected to go home soon.

Fat Stock Sale At Caribou County Fair Grounds
The Annual Caribou County 4-H and FFA Fat Stock Sale was held on Saturday August 7 at the Grace fair grounds. Twenty head of lambs and nineteen steers were sold with lambs weighed and tagged June 23 24 by Extension Agent Cecil Alldaffer and steers weighed March 16 17 for a 140 day feeding program. Ed Duren Extension Livestock Agent served as auctioneer and Harry Stewart acted as oe for the sale.

Caribou County Begins Property Re Appraisal Field Work
Caribou County starts the state mandated property re appraisal program overseen by the County Assessor. Field staff will measure buildings, inspect exteriors and interiors, document condition and materials, and photograph major structures for permanent property records. Local staff and out of town appraisers conduct the valuation with owner cooperation encouraged.
