Hansen Wins Republican Congress Nomination in Idaho
George Hansen of Pocatello won the Republican nomination for Idaho’s Second District Congress seat defeating Dick Smith of Rexburg and Keith Schofield of Rupert. Hansen led with about 80 percent of precincts reporting, ahead of Schofield by over 8,200 votes as Smith trailed. E. T. Knudson won the nonpartisan Supreme Court seat against Frank L. Benson.
