Capistrano 125th birthday brings time travel magic
Orange County marks 125 years with a citywide celebration featuring impersonators of Richard Egan and Madame Helena Modjeska. Warren Siegel, a former Orange County Superior Court judge, will portray Egan guiding a horse drawn carriage through town in a nod to 19th century ethics and daily life. A special event parade runs as residents explore the era via carriage and live reenactments.

The Friends of the Library offer carriage tours at 10 a.m. 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. starting at Verdugo Street train depot for 10 dollars. The Second Saturday Art and Antique Fair runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Historic Town Center Park with park and Los Rios District activities including Tom Scotts play at 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. park performances. A welcome ceremony is at 1:30 p.m. in the park. The Kelly Boyz perform 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A 4 p.m. press conference at the library features Richard Egan Helena Modjeska. Croquet starts at 3 p.m. A reception follows the press conference, then Songs of the American West concerts at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are 20 dollars. Families Enjoy Time Together Through Tennis
During Childhood Obesity Awareness Month the USTA staged over a thousand Free Tennis Play events across the nation. In San Juan Capistrano the event at Jierra Catholic High School invited Orange County families to play and learn from instructors, promoting bonding and healthy activity.
