As my term nears end I highlight 10 months of achievement in San Juan Capistrano. Stone Field renovation funded by Mission Hospital grants modernizes facilities for safe youth play. Town Center upgrades add restrooms and ASAP volunteer monument. Veterans Day monument under construction at the Mini-Park honor U S veterans. The Joel R. Congdon House gains National and California historic listings, led by Ilse Byrnes. A Historic Preservation Strategy guides city property care and a pending Historic Preservation Manager hire. Deputy Matthew Johnson earns Medal of Courage, with Deputy Robert Taft assisting a child in distress.
