Family mobilizes to support Cinthia Avila toward college
Four months after a traumatic event, sisters Cinthia and Diana Avila gain backing from former soccer coach Clyde Blackwelder who arranged a trust fund at Farmers and Merchants Bank in San Juan Capistrano. Cinthia, now 14, studies science and aims for nursing, with soccer plans and a scholarship to Jierra Catholic High School. Their mother Maria Santamaria raised them after their father left, balancing long work hours and school transport to keep Cinthia on track.
