Wells of Life Brings Water to Uganda Par ish with 10 New Wells
Laguna Beach charity Wells of Life founded by Nick Jordan aims to supply clean water to 2000 communities in Uganda. Led by photographer Lou Metzger and Ugandan Archbishop Maximus Ssekiwala, the group begins drilling 10 wells for his Catholic parish serving about 10,000 people. The organization reports 170 wells drilled so far, aiding over 170,000 residents. Petty Officer Michael Hearn of Lake Forest, a Navy Blue Angels technician, will perform at the Los Angeles County Air Show at Fox Airfield in Lancaster, marking his tenth year in service and a 2005 El Toro High School graduate.

The Orange County Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will honor Laguna Hills residents Lauri and Steve Delson for their support. The 20th annual Dream Gala at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point features a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment. Local woman earns Air Force wings pilot Hannah Ward
Lt. Hannah Ward of Aliso Viejo earned Air Force pilot wings after completing training and will serve as a C 17 pilot at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington. She joined the Air Force at 18 in Mission Viejo, trained at Ramstein and deployed to Qatar, later recruiting in Nashville before becoming an officer.

Capistrano Unified School District trustees appointed Brad Baker principal of Shores Cliff Middle School. Formerly assistant principal at San Clemente High, he has served as an administrator at Niguel Hills and Marco Forster Middle, Capistrano Valley High activities director, and Junipero Serra High teaching assistant principal.
