Swallows Honor Monsignor Paul Martin at City Mission
The San Juan Capistrano Historical Society honored Monsignor Paul Martin on his 38 year pastorate at the old Mission with a one of a kind statuette by Tom Gillenwater depicting Father Junipero Serra and swallows. The piece reflects Serra’s role in founding California missions and Capistrano’s place in history, while noting Serra’s potential sainthood and local restoration efforts led by Don Tryon.
