Widow turns volunteer into role model at local youth club
Karen Banse, a 64 year old San Juan Capistrano widow, lost her husband in 2008 and found meaning as a volunteer coach at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley. She helped lead a 12-2 softball season, coached 12-14 hours weekly, and supported 14 year old athletes both on and off the field.
