First Mayor Carl Buchheim Dies at 90 in Lake Forest
Services were held Tuesday for Carl Buchheim 90 the city's first mayor at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest. He died November 27 of natural causes. Buchheim a farmer and Buchheim Ranch owner is survived by daughter Linda Wilson brother Larry four grandchildren and one great grandchild. The City Council dedicated the meeting to Buchheim's memory.

Return to City Hall roots in downtown study
San Juan Capistrano officials discussed moving City Hall downtown with staff relocation as part of a study but declined to fund the project now. The current City Hall, built in 1970, sits on four acres near Del Obispo, surrounded by trailers and a sheriff’s trailer, in a flood zone and aging beyond its useful life.
