San Juan Capistrano artist backs Zoomars dinosaur statue
San Juan Capistrano artist Art Guevara created a 13 foot apatosaurus painting featuring Mission San Juan Capistrano, selling $10 postcards to fund an art center for disadvantaged youths and showing growing local support for Zoomars Petting Zoo as it fights a city order to remove the statue. The Planning Commission will hear the appeal Tuesday amid historic district concerns and a keep-the-dino campaign with broad public letters, T-shirts, and art.
