The News editor toured Gilleland and Holton churches with Bro J E Stephens and learned the Gilleland protracted meeting may start late August or early September at the old school house. Work on the new Methodist church will be delayed for weeks as crops are behind. The visit included hospitality from sister J H Whitworth and a stop at Jerome Baird burr patch amid favorable grain yields though other crops lag. The Newsman hopes to appoint a local correspondent and offers ice cream service for events on short notice.
