He praises teachers and urges new funds to ceil and paint rooms, install sturdy doors, heavy stoves, blackboards, charts, a globe, and proper windows. He cites insufficient facilities as wasting teaching funds and calls for higher levies to 20 cents where needed.
Readers publish letters from Randall and Deaf Smith County farmers praising Plains country potential. J L McReynolds recounts feeding operations in Randall County and calls Denton County ideal for hogs and poultry. A Deaf Smith County farmer reports high corn yields per acre and favorable wheat results despite a late April freeze.
Hutson cattle from the Outdoor herd of Herefords collected awards at the Denver Fat Stock Show. John Hutson earned first in bulls with Strike Twenty and first in yearling Hereford bulls with Princeps, plus second in open Strike Twenty and third in open yearling Texas Prince. Whose exhibits attracted favorable comment for source and excellence throughout Randall county.
The county assessor will assess crops raised last year and current year. Citizens must provide acres planted for wheat oats corn maize and other crops, plus forages yields in bushels or tons and acreage changes for 1907. Prepare to answer when the assessor visits.
