Mrs. A L Merrill learns her son Clayton is hospitalized in France with foot injuries. The Advertiser hopes injuries are not serious and expects a rapid recovery.
Last Thursday night J. D. Rees suffered a large loss as a prairie fire burned about 2500 bushels of wheat and oats stored in a granary. He saved roughly 2000 bushels despite intense heat and smoke. the fire came in from the surrounding area.
The Canola District lists lands for sale or rent with encroachment plans. Properties near Preeceville, Sturgis, and Winnipeg offer a range from $10 to $19 per acre, including sections 15-16-7 and adjacent parcels. Interested buyers may inquire to receive full details without obligation.

Canada plans to expand its fighting forces to 250000 men with 100000 additional troops authorized by order in council. Enlistment already totals 173000, so only 47000 more are needed to reach the quarter million. Likely infantry majority. rural enlistment plan expected to continue.
