Returned Home After Putting Up Hay Crop
W. W. A. Chapson returned Thursday evening from the San Luis valley where he has been harvesting hay at the Chapson Headlee ranch near Hooper for five weeks. About 550 tons of hay were stored, mostly native variety, in good condition. Chapson and Headlee also cultivate 160 acres of stock peas with a heavy anticipated yield. The valley is noted as a future top stock region, especially for hogs, due to pea crops and barley interplanting. Chapson reports 800 head of cattle on the San Luis valley ranch and 200 more at Pagosa Springs, with strong range feed this season.
