A brief ad promises a one year subscription to the Kansas City Daily World and a one year copy of the Recor for a total price of 250 dollars, with emphasis that the amount is correct at 2.50 per year.
The Record announces two weeks remain in its chapel organ contest with a 6 pm April 7 close. Readers’ ballots pour in as contestants vie for the extra $5 prize, with 500 votes for a new subscriber and 300 for each year of Recoup subscription.
The Garden Park district in Colorado is poised for a major oil boom as New England Consolidated and other companies prepare to drill. Prospects are buoyed by seepage evidence along creeks and valley edges, with wells planned to reach 1,000 to 1,200 feet in 30 to 40 days. Over twenty derricks rise near Florence, and two refineries at Florence with a 2,600 barrel daily capacity promise a ready market for local oil.
Clerks of this city met last night and elected officers. Max Morris of Denver and District Organizer Garret assisted. Next Tuesday evening a meeting will be held at Shaeffer's hall where Mr Garret will speak on the benefits of organization.
The Baptist roll call meeting will be held Friday evening in the Baptist church. All members of the Baptist church of any city are expected to be present. These meetings are held to determine the location of new members so the pastor may visit.
Emma Payton has added rich green draperies to her millinery store windows to enhance attractiveness and is making other improvements to gain more room.
Mr. J. A. Armor will install a cafe in the St. Cloud hotel building next week. It will operate strictly on the European plan with day and night chart orders. A crew of waiters will arrive and be employed, filling a long sought lunch gap after 8 p.m. in town.

County court reports a not guilty verdict for Marcus W Parker of Florence in a lunacy case brought by his wife Mrs. Parker. Default judgment favors T J Stevens on a note against N A Perkey. Replevin wins for W P Fancher and W A Outhier against P Hight. Sale report of real estate by Marguerite Henderson approved. Motion for new trial denied in assault case against Anna Richards and Elizabeth Spikes.
The second grade of Lincoln school presents The Wild Animal Play on Saturday at 3 30 pm in the high school room. Admission costs 25 and 10 cents, proceeds to decorate the grade room. Miss Kita M Massey trained the children and praise comes from those who saw them act.
