Desperate prison breakout tests guards and will power
A Colorado penitentiary escape led to a tense chase as guards, led by Warden Cleghorn, pursued convicts including Kuykendall Armstrong Fallon and Fisher. Mrs Cleghorn’s presence in the crowd helped avert a mass breakout, with dynamite caps and nitroglycerin found earlier in cells and Kuykendall buried in Cripple Creek.
