Eastern Carton City Adds New Baker & Biggs and Coulter Buildings
The eastern business section of Carton City grows rapidly with two new blocks planned. The Baker & Biggs building will join the Record block on the east, while the Coulter block rises across Sixth Street on Main. Existing Baker & Biggs will move west, shifting an industry eastward. Main Street houses most businesses with Fifth Street adding new ones recently.

Old Soldier Dead Pioneer Thomas Prescott Laid to Rest
Thomas Prescott born in England on June 2 1880 died in Cajon City after a long Civil War service with the First Colorado Volunteers. A founder of the local Methodist church and longtime justice of the peace he leaves a wife a son and a daughter. The funeral was held Monday at the First Methodist church with Rev H B Cook officiating under local lodge auspices.
