The Eleventh Judicial District Judge Bailey Reconsidered
The Eleventh district covering Fremont Custer Chaffee and Park counties may add another judge next term. Current judge M S Bailey is praised as a skilled, shrewd politician yet faces shifts in support. He once drew Republican votes but now lacks cross party backing. Populists are eroded and Silver Republicans tilt Park Chaffee and Custer. Despite party challenges, Bailey seeks re election on the Democratic ticket while Republicans in Canon City form an active club to recruit loyal voters and strengthen the party’s local organization.
