Court Dismisses Proxy Marriage Claim and Settlements Probe
Justice Joske ruled a proxy marriage could not be recognized under Australian law and dismissed costs against the co respondent. The hearing also examined disclosure of settlements in ACT Supreme Court actions while detailing a motor accident claim and a meat pie with a house fly incident in Queanbeyan. Arrears of hire purchase amounts totaling 1700 were pursued by Television and General Finance Co. against 34 defendants in Canberra.
