Gromyko Says Soviet Entitled To More Nuclear Tests

In a report from Inabataa Mr Gromyko defended the Soviet Union’s position on nuclear testing stating the USSR would add any new tests to the Anglo American total. He noted the need to consider Soviet security and urged UN General Assembly mediation for an immediate suspension with no reservations. Talks on Lead and Zinc Controls Near Agreement

New Burrinjuck Dam Filled to Capacity

The enlarged Burrinjuck Dam is now full at 3,000 acre feet, announced by Minister for Conservation Mr. Wetherell who noted the new storage is 147,000 acre feet above the pre enlargement maximum. The project, costing £5,000,000, included strengthening and enlargement of drainage works by the Water Conservation and Irrigation Commission.
