The Clyde River at Nelligan burst its banks flooding shops homes and the town hotel. The river stood seven feet above normal late tonight prompting a warning that the 30 residents may have to evacuate the town.
Heavy rain and gale force winds flood the South Coast isolating Batemans Bay while 12 homes are flooded and portions of the Princes Highway are washed away. A DC airliner is diverted to Merimbula and two youths escape a car washed into George's River as conditions worsen.
