The Clyde River at Nelligan on the Road from Canberra to Bateman s Bay last night burst its Banks flooding shops Homes and the town s Only hotel. The River late tonight was seven feet above its Normal depth. The entire population of 50 at Nelligan have been warned they might soon have to evacuate the town. Worst hit Nelligan connects Bate Man s Bay with the Canberra Road by Means of a diesel punt. A fortnight ago portion of the new Bridge being erected to supersede the punt was washed away. The hotel tonight had water flowing through it at bar level and two shops also were flooded. Water has entered Aboul six. Homes in the town.
