Downer resident to pilot mission plane in New Guinea
Mr Houston, longtime Canberra Aero Club member, will use nine months of public service leave to fly an Anglican Mission Cessna TRS across New Guinea mission stations at £6 a month. He and his wife plan to stay near Popondetta, departing Sydney June 29. He has 400 flying hours and training in aerial maintenance, previously visiting New Guinea in 1948. He will transport missionaries, deliver supplies, and meet Apex Club friends there.
