New Defence Move Starts On Monday

Sea Fox to Be Towed Free to Elcho Island
John Calvert, owner skipper of the yacht Sea Fox, will be towed to Elcho Island at no cost after the Navy Board agreed to Emu towing without salvage rights. Calvert cannot claim assistance from the Navy if the Sea Fox sinks. The yacht, moving at about two knots, fights flooding with pumps. Private Home Building On Increase In 1959
A National Capital Development Commission spokesman says private home building is rising. 272 permits were issued in 1958 and 345 from Jan 1 to June 30 this year, with projections toward 700 for the year. The commission expects growth from the home building exhibition and plans 900 houses and 100 flats in 1959-60.
