New York Hospital Performs First Heart Lung Transplant in Emphysema Patient
A 43 year old man with terminal heart and lung failure received the heart and lungs of a Stegedrald woman. Dr C Walton Lillehei led the team at New York Hospital with Dr Cranston Holman and twelve doctors. The operation lasted 3 hours and 13 minutes but the patient remained in unsatisfactory condition hours later. None of the prior patients remain alive.

Girls Safe After 74 Hours in Blizzard in New Zealand
