Building approvals fall in ACT and states in July

The Commonwealth Statistician My Carver reports July building approvals and values declined across Australia. In the AJL 130 houses were approved in July versus 361 in June and 178 in May, with values at £190k. ACT total approvals reached £895k, down from June’s £2.795m and May’s £1.353m.

Canberra Weather Report Shows Cooler, Wet Conditions

Temperatures in Canberra ran below normal with a high of 46.4 degrees at 11:40 am and a low of 39.0 degrees at 1:30 am. About 20 points of rain fell by 6 pm and grass readings dropped to 34.0 degrees. Forecast calls for cold showery weather and light snow with gusty westerly winds across the ACT.
