Deputy Labor Leader Mr Barnard charged Australian troops used the chemical gas CS in Vietnam, arguing it breached the 1925 Geneva Convention and urging the government to end chemical weapon use and defoliants. He urged shifting CBW research to health bodies or universities and called for Labor to state its stance in the platform.
