In a Waco showdown Lorena and improving Yoemen bring similar spread offenses and 3-4 defenses. After a 30-10 homecoming win over Lexington the Yoemen seek momentum with a three interception game and 200 total yards before facing Lorena whose two 100 yard rushers and stingy defense highlighted a 23-12 win over Whitney.
Cameron Yoealy hosts Lorena in Waco ISD Stadium at 7 30 p m Friday with both teams 1 1. Cameron defeated Lexington 30 10 while Lorena beat Whitney 23 12 last week. Key Leopards to watch include Evan Ward Fisher Thompson Kalin Kethherside and Chandler Snodgrass.
Yoemen overpower Lexington 30-10 as four key defensive plays and a late third quarter interception by Ty Morgan spark the comeback. Cameron fumbles and Sims interceptions shaped the swing. Townsend and Anderson add second half scores. Next up is Lorena at Waco ISD Stadium Friday night.
Rogers Eagles defeated Bruceville-Eddy 49-6 to move to 3-0 as E J Larkin ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns and Ryan Pierce added 148 yards and two scores. Rogers totaled 456 yards while Bruceville-Eddy fumbled nine times and turned it over three. Next up, Rogers hosts Troy in a non district game at 7 30 p m.
Cameron Junior High teams defeated Lexington Eagles last Thursday in Lexington. The eighth graders scored six touchdowns and dominated with kickoff returns, a punt return, and a fumble return for touchdowns, while the seventh graders played a scrimmage in the first half and finished with key plays including a fumble return and a touchdown pass.
Tickets for the Lorena at Waco ISD Stadium game go on sale in the Yee High Principal's office through Friday at 1 p.m. Prices are $7 adults, $4 students, with $8 at the gate. The game is in Waco. Cameron Tire Shop Donating Soccer Balls to Cameron Youth Soccer Association through Uniroyal program. Beginning Sept 11, players get a free ball certificate at Cameron Tire Store while supplies last. For 30 days, Uniroyal and Cameron Tire donate $2 per tire sold. Senior Yoemen Cards Available for CISD residents 65+. Lady Yoe falls to No. 4 3A Columbus 23 25 16 25 15 25 as coach Linda Richter praises effort and notes missed serves limited finishing. Jayci Denio leads with six kills and Katryn Kimbrel records three blocks while JV also defeats Columbus 25 17 17 25 25 21.
The Cameron ISD Athletic Department asks former Yoe graduates who played college sports to send an 8 by 10 college photo for Yee Field House display.
