Cameron News Reflects On Agriculture And Local Schools
The Cameron Herald notes cotton receipts at noon Thursday reaching 100 bales with 1928 harvest late yet favorable compared with last year. It cites price declines from a government report and argues diversifying farms reduces need for relief, while praising the Texas reserve deposit law as protective for life companies. Cameron public schools open with strong enrollment and local support, and recent letters to the paper praise Gov. Al Smith and Tom Connally, reflecting Democratic optimism and Civil War-era regional changes.
