Mr. S. W. Taylor forecasts a very late frost this fall with a delayed winter, predicting frost around December. Edwards Arrested For Cotton Theft Near Rockdale
Constable R L McCoy woke to a telephone tip from Deputy Ebb Aldridge of Rockdale about seed cotton stolen from a local farmer. Edwards, tracked via train to Thorndale, was captured after a three hour ride in Lee County with the cash in hand.

School Bond Election Carried In Two Districts
In Conoly and Duncan school districts last week bond measures of 2000 each failed to attract strong turnout. Conoly voters approved the bonds 34 to 0, while Duncan saw a similar outcome with four opposing but the majority in favor.
