Redistricting Bill Passes In Texas Legislature
The Texas House approved a free conference report to finalize the representative redistricting bill sending it to the governor. The plan keeps 150 representatives, creates new districts, redistributes counties including Bexar and Dallas as five seats each, and adds a float district for Dallas with Kaufman and Rockwall. Conferees adjusted districts to satisfy population parity, while ensuring no quorum was formally declared.
