Miss Lil Jeter Dies in Marlin at 49
Miss Lil Jeter, 49, died at Torbet Sanitarium in Marlin after weeks of illness and a recent operation. She was a Cameron social and religious leader, daughter of the late W M Jeter, survived by three sisters and two nephews. Funeral services will be held from the family residence with Rev Vernon G Miles overseeing, interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Marek Burns in charge.

Mrs W L Lutner 81 a Cameron native died at her son Dr Thomas R Lutners Lawton Oklahoma home at 1 am Sunday October 26 1941 She was a longtime Cameron resident and a First Baptist Church member Funeral services will be held 3 pm Tuesday October 28 1941 at First Baptist Church Cameron with Rev C W Sanders officiating The body will lie at Green Funeral Home before and after the service Grandchildren survive the family is long noted in Cameron with the Lutner name

Former Cameron Girl Wreck Victim. Companion Injured
Dana Weaver, a Cameron native and Rogers High School graduate, was killed instantly in a collision near La Grange on Sunday October 26 while returning to Houston from Austin. Her companion Elois Lively, a former Yee High School student, suffered a broken collarbone and severe bruises. Lively’s condition worsened over days with slow recovery expected.

Athletic Council Rejects Special Train Plan
The Cameron Athletic Council rejected a citizens proposal for a special train to Killeen Friday night. President J. R. Hays said the council would not guarantee 250 railroad tickets at 85 cents, and the trip could not depart Cameron in time for the game. The council would also only receive about $40 from the event.

Jesse James of Milam County was appointed State Treasurer by Governor Coke R Stevenson to fill the unexpired term of Charley Lockhart who resigns for health reasons. James, a Thorndale native, has served as department chief clerk since 1938 and earlier as representative for the 64th District.
