Rainy weather triggers multiple road closures in Milam County
Last week's and this week's persistent rains have filled stock tanks creeks and rivers beyond safe levels. TXDoT announced closures on FM 1915 south of Buckholts at Big Elm Creek FM 487 at Donahue Creek and FM 486 at the Little River south of Pettibone. PIO Bob Colwell said officials monitor the sites closely.

Motorist dies after collision with tree in Cameron City Park
Sigfrid Mayer, 28, of Anchorage Alaska, was killed in a one vehicle crash in eastern Cameron. He drove a red Hyundai Elantra west on Hwy 36 toward town, lost control, and struck a pecan tree at Milam and Fourth near Cameron City Park. Speed is suspected. police say he may have been texting before the crash.

Milam County Contracts to Speed Case Load with Attorney
