Postmaster John R. Hays compares October mailing prep to spring training and notes urgency for overseas parcels. Armed service mail to Korea Japan and Pacific must go by November 1 while Europe and American possessions should mail by November 15. Air mail for cards permitted until December 1 with weight limits.
Do and don'ts for overseas parcel mailing are outlined by the Postmaster. Guidelines cover weight limits, size, nonperishables, and proper packaging with sturdy cartons and cushioning. Advice emphasizes legible hand printed addresses and returning information inside the carton.
