Houston reports a surge toward 25 cent cotton as traders foresee higher futures. Spot prices jumped in Houston to middling 18.50 cents per pound, bale values near 92.50 dollars, seed valued at 50 dollars per ton, with statewide demand driving widespread gains.
MinerVa farmer W A Robinson bought a prize hog at the Dallas fair. Big Ben 2nd captured first in junior champion and grand champion, earning prizes. Big Ben won $110 in an all class show. Robinson received a $100 profit offer shortly after the purchase.
The report notes prices falling as producers shift stock and feed away from cotton, leading to lower bacon costs and a 17 cent per unit price no longer being paid.
Mr H Yee announces retirement from farming and leases Yoe Elm Creek Farm to Earl and Bryan Colburn who have worked the land. He also leases all teams and equipment and sells feed on hand.
